The late Walter Walker, of Lakefield, ON, was surely Canada's most iconic canoe-maker of the last half-century. His works are highly treasured. Offered here is a mint example of a 13' Pioneer model cedar strip canoe, made by Walter in 1974, in his basement workshop. It is signed and dated. This is a one-owner canoe, barely ever used, and remains in 'as new' condition, save for the slight alteration of seating. Light and responsive, it is perhaps best used as a solo canoe. Or simply just hung in a cottage to be admired as a piece of art. Hard to come by. Walter's canoes have recently sold for as much as $10,000, with one being appraised at $12,000. Open to offers.
